Swamp Milkweed is a favorite butterfly plant. Hummingbirds will also visit it. The pink flowers bloom in mid summer on the tops of tall stems.

Asclepias incarnata is a good food source for Monarch butterfly caterpillars. Unlike other milkweeds, it loves moist soil. But it also tolerates regular garden soil if it is watered regularly. Hardy in zones 3-9.
