Blue fescue is one of the most popular of all ornamental grasses because the compact plants fit into any size garden. The dusty-blue-green foliage is topped with tan seedheads in late summer.
Blue fescue is nice when planted in groups, although it can be used as a specimen plant in a small garden. It is drought-tolerant, and it needs well-drained soil. Hardy in zones 4-10.
