Armenian Basketflower has large, bright yellow flowers in early summer. The overall impression is that of a huge thistle, but the plants are not prickly.
Centaurea macrocephala is a bushy perennial that adds substance to the garden. It looks striking when paired with blue flowers. It is drought resistant. Also called Yellow Hardhead. Hardy in zones 3-9.
