These carefree wildflowers are yellow with maroon-red centers. They bloom
all summer long on wiry stems.
Coreopsis tinctoria is perfect for filling in the gaps between more substantial plants. It's also nice mixed with other wildflowers. It tolerates a wide range of conditions, including poor, dry soil. Also known as Calliopsis.
Coreopsis tinctoria self sows, and some of the plants survive the winter in my zone 5 garden. So it spreads itself around pretty quickly.
