People are always asking me, "What's that white plant in your front yard?" Perennial candytuft is one of the few plants that blooms in early May. It's a perfect companion for tulips.
Perennial candytuft is actually an evergreen subshrub, and the foliage looks nice all year. Cut the plants back by half after bloom to keep them tidy. They eventually spread 18" wide. Hardy in zones 3-9.
