This is the first sweet pea from which all the others  are descended. The small, violet-blue and maroon, bicolor flowers are extremely fragrant.

Sweet pea 'Cupani' was brought into cultivation by Father Francis Cupani, a Sicilian Monk. He introduced it to an English gardener in 1699, and the rest is history!
