This fantastic variety has deep red leaves that are a real standout in the garden. The young leaves have a slightly spicy flavor, and they make a lovely addition to salads. They can also be cooked like spinach.
Orach 'Magenta Magic' is beautiful in all its stages, even when bolting. The plants eventually reach 4 feet tall and are covered with flat, red seed pods that mature to tan. Nice in flower gardens, vegetable gardens and containers. I forgot to take a picture of orach by itself, but here it's shown with bunching onions and lettuce.

Sow outdoors in early spring, or fall in the south. Sow 2" apart and 1/2" deep. Thin to 9" apart. Full sun.
