'Chocolate Drop'

1 pkt = 200 seeds

Penstemon 'Chocolate Drop' blooms in early to mid summer with burgundy-purple flowers that have thin, white stripes. The dark color looks especially nice next to the bright yellow flowers of Oenothera missouriensis.

Penstemon whippleanus is native to Utah. We saw it blooming in the Uintah mountains where we went fishing. It's one of the easiest penstemons to grow because it tolerates the moist conditions found in most gardens, and it doesn't mind part shade. But it still needs good drainage. Also known as Whipple's Penstemon and Dusky Beardtongue. Hardy in zones 4-9.

Stratify 8 weeks.
