Castor bean 'Carmencita' has large, tropical-looking, bronze-red leaves. The small, cream-pink flowers develop into showy, red seed pods.
Castor beans grow quickly to a large size. It's hard to imagine the late summer border without a backdrop of castor beans. The plants are hardy in zones 9-11. Grow them as annuals in cooler regions.
Castor bean seeds are extremely poisonous. Keep away from children and pets.
