HomeIndian Stripe tomato is a distinctive strain of Cherokee Purple. It is said to be earlier, smaller, and more productive. In my garden, it wasn't much earlier or smaller, but it was definitely more productive. The medium-size fruits are dusky purple with green shoulders. The flavor is sweet, tangy and slightly smoky, but milder than Cherokee Purple.
Tomato 'Indian Stripe' was discovered in the garden of Clyde Burson of Arkansas and named by Carolyn Male. Heirloom variety.
