Digitalis purpurea 'Excelsior Hybrids'
(Foxglove)
2,000 seeds $3.50
Digitalis purpurea 'Excelsior Hybrids' is a mixture of pink, purple and white, bell-shaped flowers. The tubular flowers bloom in early summer, attracting hummingbirds.
The long-stemmed flowers of Foxglove 'Excelsior' are good for cutting, but I prefer to keep them in the garden where they stand out like exclamation points, providing height and interest.
Also known as Digitalis purpurea 'Excelsior Group' and 'Excelsior Mixed'. It received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
Biennial or short-lived perennial. Plants are poisonous. Hardy in zones 4-9.
