Amish melon is one of our all-time favorites. It's a reliable producer of oval-shaped, 4-7 pound fruits. The juicy, orange flesh is sweet and flavorful. This excellent muskmelon was introduced by Seed Savers Exchange in 1983.

As gardeners, we are deeply indebted to the Amish community for preserving so many wonderful heirloom vegetables. This is another example of their fine work. Latin name: Cucumis melo. 

Sowing Melon 'Amish' Seeds

Sow melon seeds outdoors after the last frost date, 1/2" deep. Space 2' apart in rows. Or sow in hills spaced 4-6' apart. Thin to 3 plants per hill. Full sun.
