Aquilegia vulgaris 'Ruby Port'

Aquilegia 'Ruby Port' is an heirloom columbine with dark ruby-red, double flowers with short spurs. This is the first columbine I ever grew, and it's still one of my favorites. A classic!

Ruby Port columbine has tall stems for cutting. It looks especially stunning in the garden next to the silver-green foliage of Lychnis coronaria 'Alba'.

Also known as Double-flowered Granny's Bonnet and Aquilegia vulgaris var. stellata plena 'Ruby Port'. Shade tolerant.

Sowing Aquilegia (Columbine) Seeds

Start seeds indoors in late winter. Lightly cover the seeds with soil, then refrigerate for 3 weeks.
