Carrot 'Cosmic Purple'

'Cosmic Purple' carrot has bright purple skin with a yellow to orange interior. The 6-inch roots have a spicy and earthy flavor. My daughter Megan, owner of Megan's Heirloom Seeds, won a photo contest with this beautiful picture.

'Cosmic Purple' carrot is an open-pollinated variety introduced in 2005 by Dr. Philipp Simon of the USDA Agricultural Research Station in Madison, Wisconsin. It is a Danvers type.​

Sowing Carrot Seeds

Sow carrot seeds outdoors 3-6 weeks before the last frost date in deeply worked soil. Lightly cover the seeds with soil. Keep moist. Thin to 3" apart. Full sun.
