Cleome 'Cherry Queen'

Cleome 'Cherry Queen' has deep pink flowers that fade to a lighter pink, creating a beautiful two-tone effect. This is the boldest pink cleome, which Sarah Raven recommends in her book, The Bold and Brilliant Garden.

Cleome attracts hummingbirds, which like to perch on the horizontal seed pods at the tops of the tall stems. The plants are deer-resistant. Cleome is commonly known as Spider Flower.

Start cleome seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Or sow outdoors in late spring. Lightly cover the seeds with soil.
