Delphinium elatum

Delphinium elatum is the species from which many of the modern hybrids were developed. It is a beautiful perennial with tall spires of deep violet-blue flowers.

Unlike the heavier hybrids, Delphinium elatum only needs staking in windy areas. Also known as Bee Larkspur.
