Dianthus carthusianorum
Clusterhead Pink

If you want a plant that none of your gardening friends has, try Dianthus carthusianorum (if you can pronounce it). This tall perennial blooms in June and July with clusters of cool pink flowers that attract butterflies.
In my garden, Dianthus carthusianorum looks lovely with Digitalis lutea and Nigella damascena. It's shown here poking through the foliage of a rose.
Also known as Clusterhead Pink. It likes well-drained soil. Deer-resistant.
Hardiness Zones: 5-9
Height: 36"
Spacing: 12"
Light: Full sun
