Dianthus knappii is a rare perennial that blooms from May to July with pale sulphur-yellow flowers that seem to glow at dusk. It is drought-tolerant, and it requires well-drained soil to overwinter successfully.

Dianthus knappii is native to grasslands in the Balkans. It has been grown in gardens since 1898. Also known as Knapp's carnation.
