Digitalis purpurea 'Excelsior Hybrids'

Digitalis 'Excelsior Hybrids' is a mixture of pink, purple and white flowers. The tubular flowers bloom in early summer, attracting hummingbirds and bumblebees.

The long-stemmed flowers of Foxglove 'Excelsior' are good for cutting, but I prefer to keep them in the garden where they provide lots of color, height and interest.

Also known as Digitalis purpurea 'Excelsior Group' and 'Excelsior Mixed'. It received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Biennial or short-lived perennial. Plants are poisonous. Hardy in zones 4-9.

Start foxglove seeds indoors 8 weeks before the last frost date. Sow on the surface. Full sun to part shade.
