Four O'Clock 'Red'

Mirabilis jalapa

Red four o'clock has glowing red flowers that open in the evening with a sweet fragrance. It is the best variety for attracting hummingbirds, and it looks stunning in beds and borders.

This is my all-time favorite variety. I grow it as a foundation planting on the south side of my house. There's something special about the color, which reminds me of fruit punch. This selection has better coloring than other strains I've tried.

Four O'Clocks are hardy in zones 7b-11. In colder zones, grow them as self-sowing annuals. They are drought-tolerant and deer-resistant.
