Hibiscus moscheutos Mix

These seeds are from two named varieties of hardy hibiscus in my garden - Luna Pink Swirl and Luna Rose. The majority of the seeds are from the light pink one. These varieties are more compact than the species.

Hibiscus moscheutos blooms from July to September. It prefers full sun and moist soil. Protect the plants with a thick layer of mulch over the winter. Cut back to 4" tall while still dormant in early spring. The plants are very slow to emerge, usually appearing in June in my zone 5b garden. They like moist soil.

Start hibiscus seeds indoors in late winter. Give 2 months cold-moist stratification in the fridge. Sow 1/4" deep.
