Lilium davidii is a cold-hardy species native to Western China. The Turk's cap flowers are bright orange with maroon-red spots. They bloom in abundance on tall stems that bend gracefully.

Lilium davidii prefers rich, well-drained soil. it grows well in large containers, which can be overwintered in a garage. This is the best way to grow lilies in areas with poor soil or gopher problems. I use 7-gallon nursery pots.
