Penstemon canescens

Penstemon canescens is native to the Eastern U.S. from Vermont to Alabama. It blooms in May with light purple flowers that have white throats. The stems are covered with tiny hairs, which give them a soft appearance. The leaves are semi-evergreen, and the tubular flowers attract hummingbirds.
