Poppy 'Drama Queen' has frilly red petals with a purple-black center and contrasting white filaments. This stunning poppy is one of the most interesting varieties I have grown.

In 2020, we sold out of home-grown seeds, so we bought commercial seeds for the business. Unfortunately, the commercial supply had gone bad, and people were selling 'Hungarian Breadseed' as 'Drama Queen'. We haven't found a reputable source since then. Finally, we grew out the last packet of our original seeds, and here it is! Our video proves that it's the real thing.

Sowing Poppy Seeds

Sow poppy seeds outdoors in early spring on the soil surface. In zones 8-11, sow in fall. Mix the seeds with sand before sowing for good coverage. Can be started indoors 6 weeks before the last frost date.
