Pulsatilla vulgaris 'Red Bells'

Pulsatilla 'Red Bells' has bright red flowers in March and April. It is a wonderful companion for spring-flowering bulbs.

Pulsatilla vulgaris looks lovely in the rock garden or at the front of the border. When the flowers are gone, they are replaced by showy seedheads. The soft, ferny foliage is also nice.

This selection was introduced by Jelitto Perennial Seeds. The German name is Pulsatilla vulgaris 'Rote Glocke'. Also known as Anemone pulsatilla.

Sowing Pulsatilla vulgaris Seeds

Start seeds indoors in late winter. Lightly cover the seeds with soil, then refrigerate for 3 weeks. Slow to germinate. All parts are poisonous.
