Sage 'Casola Valsenio'

Casola Valsenio is our favorite variety of garden sage. It has an especially nice fragrance and an amazing number of flowers, which bloom for a long time in late spring to summer. As far as the bees are concerned, it's the best plant in the garden.

This rare variety comes from the Giardino delle Erbe Augusto Rinaldi Ceroni in Casola Valsenio, Italy. It tolerates poor, dry soil.

Salvia officinalis is a perennial herb that is one of the main ingredients in poultry seasoning. It's also good in soup, salad, squash and potato dishes. This versatile herb can even be placed in drawers to repel moths.

Salvia officinalis is also known as Broadleaf Sage, Common Sage, Garden Sage, and Kitchen Sage. Deer resistant. Hardy in zones 5-9. May be hardier.
