Strawflower 'Apricot Peach Mix' blooms from midsummer to fall in shades of apricot, yellow, and burgundy. This mix is very popular for cut flower arrangements and crafting.
Cut the stems when the blooms are partially open, and hang the bunches upside down to dry in a dark place to preserve the color. The buds will continue to open as they dry.
Strawflower is easy to grow, tolerating both drought and poor soil. Pinch out the tips for bushier plants. It is shown growing in my garden with Lavatera 'Silver Cup'.
