Sweet Pea 'Hannah Dale'

Sweet Pea 'Hannah Dale' has iridescent grape-maroon flowers. I love the unique color! It is one of the first to bloom, but also one of the first to fade in our hot summer climate. It has a wonderfully strong fragrance.

Sweet Pea 'Hannah Dale' was bred by Dobbie and Co. and introduced in 1907. It is now very rare.

Sowing Sweet Pea Seeds

Start indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date. Sow 1/2" deep. Move to a sheltered location outside when most of the seedlings appear (before the leaves unfurl). Bring indoors if temperatures drop below 20 degrees. Pinch when there are 2-3 sets of true leaves. Transplant 2-3 weeks before the last frost date. All parts are poisonous.
