Sweet Pea 'Prince of Orange'

Sweet Pea 'Prince of Orange' has glowing orange flowers with a pink blush. The vibrant flowers attract hummingbirds, but they tend to fade in full sun. This variety performs best in mild summer areas. Give it afternoon shade in hot climates.

Sweet Pea 'Prince of Orange' was introduced in 1928 by C.C. Morse & Co. Be sure to save seeds, as you never know when old varieties might disappear from circulation!

Sowing Sweet Pea Seeds

Start indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date. Sow 1/2" deep. Move to a sheltered location outside when most of the seedlings appear (before the leaves unfurl). Bring indoors if temperatures drop below 20 degrees. Pinch when there are 2-3 sets of true leaves. Transplant 2-3 weeks before the last frost date. All parts are poisonous.
