Tomato 'Jaune Flamme'

'Jaune Flamme' is a small, tart tomato with an apricot-orange color. I like to add little slices to my plate to wake me up if I fall asleep at the dinner table after a long day of gardening. It really packs a punch! The 2- to 4-ounce fruits are produced early and continuously until autumn frost. I filled my freezer with bags of whole tomatoes, which were used for recipes all through the winter.

'Jaune Flamme' is an heirloom tomato from Norbert Perreira of Helliner, France. The name means "yellow flame."

Sowing Tomato Seeds

Start tomato seeds indoors 8 weeks before the last frost date. Sow 1/8" deep. Transplant outside 1-2 weeks after the last frost date. Full sun. Spacing 30-36".
