Cheiranthus allionii

Cheiranthus allionii blooms in late spring to early summer with lightly fragrant, bright orange flowers. It is a self-sowing biennial or short-lived perennial. It's shown here with Viola tricolor 'Helen Mount'.

One of my favorite combinations is Cheiranthus allionii with white tulips. After the tulips are finished, the Siberian wallflowers continue to blooms into early June. The long-stemmed flowers are good for cutting.

Also known as Erysimum x marshallii. Easy to grow. Self sows.

Sow seeds outdoors in spring or fall. Or start indoors 6 weeks before the last frost date. Surface sow or lightly cover the seeds with soil.
