Poppy 'Jimi's Flag'

'Jimi's Flag' poppy has single, scarlet-red flowers with dark purple centers and feathered edges. Frank Morton bred this intriguing poppy by crossing 'Danish Flag' with 'Purple Peony'. It's about as exciting as a single-petaled poppy can be.

Sowing Poppy Seeds

Sow poppy seeds outdoors in early spring on the soil surface. In zones 8-11, sow in fall. Mix the seeds with sand before sowing for good coverage. Can be started indoors 6 weeks before the last frost date.
