Tomato 'Early Gem'

'Early Gem' is our own introduction. Even with all the famous heirlooms in the garden, this little salad tomato is still one of my favorites. The 1.5-inch, round, red fruits ripen early and continuously all summer long. The sweet and tangy flavor is well-balanced. Productivity is excellent, but not overwhelming.

'Early Gem' tomato was introduced by Diane's Flower Seeds in 2025. It was discovered in a patch of 'Abe Lincoln Original' tomatoes grown from a packet of Baker Creek seeds.

Sowing Tomato Seeds

Start tomato seeds indoors 8 weeks before the last frost date. Sow 1/8" deep. Transplant outside 1-2 weeks after the last frost date. Full sun. Spacing 30-36".
