Bean 'Mbombo'

'Mbombo' bean is a beautiful heirloom from Kenya, Africa. The 5-inch, green pods have an old-fashioned bean flavor that we adore. The semi-pole vines grow 5 to 6 feet tall and require support.

'Mbombo' quickly matures its seeds to lovely shades of bluish-green. The dry beans are terrific for soups and stews. This highly productive bean stands up well to hot weather.

Sowing Pole Bean Seeds

Sow pole bean seeds outdoors 2 weeks after the last frost date, 1” deep and 3” apart. Provide a trellis. Full sun.
